WELDING & BRAZING APPROVALS
BACKGROUND
Essential safety requirements 3.1.2 of the Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2014/68/EU requires that for pressure equipment in categories II, III and IV, operating procedures and personnel shall be approved by a competent third party which, at the manufacturer’s discretion, may be at Approved Body or RTPO.
HP-CEproof Ltd is Approved Body accredited to approve procedures and personnel.
HARMONISED STANDARDS FOR WELDING AND BRAZING
The directive requires that to carry out these approvals, examinations and tests must be performed as set out in the appropriate harmonised standards (or equivalent examinations and test).
These harmonised standards include:
- EN ISO 15614-1:2017
Specification and qualification of welding procedures for metallic materials. Welding procedure test. Arc and gas welding of steels and arc welding of nickel and nickel alloys - EN ISO 9606-1:2017
Qualification testing of welders. Fusion welding. Steels - EN 13134:2000
Brazing. Procedure approval. - EN ISO 13585:2012
Brazing. Qualification test of brazers and brazing operators
